Enapter present AI-powered Electrolyzers with improved efficiency

Rotterdam and Piacenza, 22 May 2025 – During the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam and the Hydrogen Expo in Piacenza/Italy, Enapter (ISIN: DE000A255G02) presents a major performance milestone: Enapter’s AEM megawatt electrolyzers now operate at 51.3 kWh per kg of hydrogen produced, positioning it as one of the best in efficient hydrogen production.

This improvement of 4% in efficiency from previously 53.3 kWh/kg results from a combination of AI-driven operational optimization, advancements in the balance of plant, and continuous core technology improvements. Together, these innovations reduce energy consumption and therefore lower the total cost of ownership.

With reduced energy requirements, Enapter’s megawatt electrolyzers offer significantly lower OPEX, while maintaining the inherently low maintenance needs of Enapter’s modular AEM systems. These advantages make it a excellent solution for scalable and cost-effective green hydrogen production.

As a company driven by innovation, Enapter continues to redefine what’s possible in hydrogen technology—bridging advanced AI software and next-gen hardware for a more sustainable future.

Jürgen Lackmann, CEO of Enapter:
“Our electrolyzers are operated more efficiently thanks to AI-powered support from our Software. Moreover, AI enables us to implement predictive maintenance as a standard feature. Our electrolyzers continuously report their operational status, allowing us to minimize downtime”
